On Tuesday China's National Health Commission said "A 41-year-old man in China’s eastern province of Jiangsu has been confirmed as the first human case of infection with a rare strain of bird flu known as H10N3". 

The man, a resident of the city of Zhenjiang, was hospitalized on April 28 and diagnosed with H10N3 on May 28, and his condition is stable, The NHC said in a statement.

There are not enough details that how the man had been infected with the Virus.

What is H10N3 

H10N3 is a subtype of viruses that causes influenza (flu). It is mostly present in wild avian species.

Only around 160 cases of the virus have been reported in the 40 years before 2018, mostly in various waterfowl or wild birds.

Studies show that H10N3 influenza viruses are present in a wide range of domestic and wild avian species, as well as in mammals.

Although H10N3 is usually less severe strain and is unlikely to cause a significant outbreak.

How dangerous is H10N3 avian influenza?

Chinese health experts have claimed that, It is a low pathogenic or relatively less severe strain of the avian flu in poultry and its risk of spreading on a large scale is very low.
