In the fun of rain we tend to forget to take care of our eyes.in the rainy season our eyes are becomes highly susceptible to allergies and infections, so little carelessness about your eyes can result into eye problems.Â
During rainy season common eye problems are Conjunctivitis or pink eye, stye, dry eyes, corneal ulcer, allergies, etc.,Â
1. Conjunctivitis

Conjunctivitis is also known as pink eyes, conjunctivitis is the inflammation of conjunctiva (white visible part of eye). it is caused by bacteria, virus or some other substances. common symptoms are redness, discharge, swelling, itching, mild photophobia.Â
For treatment visit your nearby ophthalmologist and don't self medicate.Â

2. Stye

Stye also know as Hordeolum. It is an inflammation of lash follicle which associated with glands of moll and zeis. In the rainy season it is very common due to the bacterial infections. common symptoms of stye are acute pain, swelling of eye lid, watering, mild photophobia. for self treatment you can do hot compresses 2-3 times a day. but in severity immediately visit your near eye hospital.

3. Corneal Ulcer

 Corneal ulcer also known as Keratitis. it is open sore that forms on the cornea. it is caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi, protozoa, and due to allergic substances. it is common in rainy season because moisture creates a favorable condition to microorganism to grown and multiple on cornea surface. common symptoms of ulcer are pain, watering, red eye, discharge, reduced vision, mild photophobia. treatment depend upon its severity and root cause of corneal ulcer.Â
 4. Dry Eyes

Dry eyes are the condition of eye which occurs due to exposure of dust, pollutants, defective blinking, Vitamin A deficiency. the common symptoms are irritation, foreign body sensation, feeling of dryness, itching. so whenever you go outside from your house always wear protective glasses and can use lubricating eye drops.Â

Prevention
Avoid touching your eyes
Always wash your hand before touching your eyes
Avoid to wear contact lens in rainy season and if you wear then maintain good contact lens hygiene
Don't rub your eyes very often
If you have eye infection avoid eye make-up
Always wear glasses at outdoor
Don't share your towel with anyone.Â
If you felling any discomfort in the eyes, seek medical help immediately, do not self medicate.
