Hernia is very common case in India, estimated there are more than 1 million case of hernia per year in India. 

The most common types of hernia are Incisional (resulting from an incision), Inguinal (Inner groin), Femoral (outer groin), Umbilical (belly button) and Hiatal (upper stomach).

Hernia occurs in infant, children and adult, in both male and females.

1. Uttanpadasana

Lie down on your back on yoga mat with your arms by your side and inhale with slowly raise your right leg (don't bend your knees) as far as you can lift up. 

Now exhale and slowly lower it, keep your lower back close to the floor. Do 5-6 reps of each leg and do this pose for at least 2 min.

2. Naukasana

Lie down on your back with your feet straight and together and arms on your side, arm should be stretched out and finger outstretched toward your toes. 

Now inhale and lift your upper body(chest) and both the feet off the ground simultaneously. stretching your arms towards your feet. make balance on the buttocks and hold this position for 5 to 10 seconds.

3. Pawanmuktasana

Lay down on the floor in supine position, Exhale and inhale slowly and raise the legs to the 90 degree angle from the floor now band your both the legs at the knees and place against the abdomen. Now encircle the knees with both arms, hands should be clasping opposite elbow. Bend the neck and put the chin on the knees or touch the chin to the knees. Now hold this position as much as you can, breathe normally during the asana.

4. Sarvangasana

First lay down on your back on the mat, keep your feet together and straight. now start raising your legs upward and make 90 degree angel with your body. now bend your elbow and place under the waist, now start lifting your waist upward with legs and your body should be in straight position for couple of min.

5. Viparita Karani

Just lay down and place a horizontal block under your hip and put all the weight on the block and lift your feet towards the sky.
