Cataract is the condition of the eye, development of any opacity in the crystalline lens known as cataract. it mostly occurs after the age of 50 but it can also in newborn and early 50s.Â
Person having cataract can feel difficulty in night driving, reading, seeing distance vision. in most of the cases cataract develop gradually and don't restrict your vision early on but over the time it eventually begins to interfere with your vision.

1. Quit Smoking
Smoking is not only responsible for cataract but it is also responsible for many health problems, like cancer etc.Â
Smoking is linked with Age related macular degeneration and cataract as well, it because of free radicals which are released by smoking to your body, which may responsible for cataract.
2. Maintain healthy diet
A healthy diet can keep you fit and healthy for forever but a poor diet also responsible for various health condition like, obesity, diabetes, cataract, etc.Â
Green vegetables, fruits and oxidant rich food may prevents cataract. Vitamin C, A and E, zeaxanthin, lutein and omega 3 fatty acid may also reduce the risk of cataract.Â

4. Avoid using unnecessary steroid
Steroids are very powerful medication which can affect you whole body, prolong usage of avoid may increase the chance of getting cataract.Â
Steroid should always taken under supervision of doctor.Â
5. Avoid trauma
Ocular trauma or any kind of trauma can cause cataract and in this kind of cataract your vision may permanent low. trauma in any age can result in progression and formation of cataract. Â
So it is essential for you to protect your eyes by using protective eye wear to prevent injuries.Â
6. Go for regular eye-check up
Visit your near by Optometrist or Ophthalmologist's clinic, they can spot your eye problem early on and will give you better treatment.
If you are between 40 to 60 age then you should visit to eye clinic in every 6 or 12 months for complete eye check up.Â
