Get rid of dry skin in winters : Dry skin

 

Gradually we are stepping in winters and eventually we are going to face most common winter problem that is dry skin.

Dry skin condition is known as Xeroderma, it is marked by scaling, cracking and itching and its feel very uncomfortable.

 Dry skin mostly occurs due to dehydration of skin.

The most common cause of dry skin in winter is cold air, low humidity levels, dry indoor heat and winter wind can snatch your skin's moisture which results in dry skin.

Common sign of dry skin

Before going towards ways to get rid of dry skin, first you should know about sign of dry skin:

  • Cracks in your skin
  • Irritated skin
  • Redness
  • Rough skin
  • Scaliness
  • Stinging or burning sensation 
  • Itching

There are lots of ways to keep your skin healthy or prevent from dryness even in winter, here in this article we will try to solve your problem. 

1. Apply sunscreen regularly

Yes!, you can also apply sunscreen in winter days cause harmful UV light can hamper your skin's moisture barrier which result in dry skin. 

Apply sunscreen everyday after applied a moisturizer.  

Sunscreen which you are using in winter should at least SPF 30.

 2. Apply moisturizer 

Moisturizer is the key product to prevent your skin from dryness in winters, anytime you wash your body, face or hands you drain your natural oils of skin which helps to lock in moisture. That's why it is important to use moisturizer every wash to prevent your skin from dryness. 

3. Use humidifier 

As we all know low humidity in the environment is also responsible for you dry skin in winter. so it is best use humidifier which help to add humidity in the air. 

More the humidity in the air less the chance of getting dry skin. 

4. Down the temperature

Hot shower is very common in winter but did you know that hot water can wipe your skin's natural oil which helps lock moisture of your skin, so to prevent wiping of your skin's oil keep the water temperature close to lukewarm. 

Also take care of your skin during drying your skin by towel do it gently not vigorously. 

5. Keep your body hydrate from inside

Dehydration is also responsible for dry skin in winter or any season, so it is necessary to keep your body hydrate by drinking adequate water each day.  

You can eat rich antioxidant foods which protect your skin's cell from environmental damage and keep it healthy. 

6. Choose right skin care regime 

Wrong choice of skin product can harm your skin which result in dry skin. your skin needs different treatment in winters. cut back on face mask, exfoliating scrubs and steam treatments.use good quality of moisturizer.
