Strength training involves one or more than one muscles group during exercise, like deadlift or bench-press.

What is strength training?

Strength training also known as resistance or weight training. 

Strength training are those type of training in which a person uses a weight or any type of resistance to train or move his/her muscles. 

What kind of weight or resistance you can use during strength training?

Depending on your fitness goal you can choose following weights or resistance :

1. Bodyweight : Using your own weight to perform different-different exercise, like pull ups, push-up, body-weight squat, etc.

2. Free weight : Free weights are those weight which are not bound to the floor or any type of machine, like Dumbbells, kettlebells, barbell, or any heavy objects that you can use during weight training. 

3. Resistance band or tube : Resistance band or tube provides resistance when stretched.

4. Machine : Machines attached with hydraulics or adjustable weight provides tension or stress to the muscles.

It burns more calories by increasing muscle metabolic rate and MBR increases due to more muscle mass growth. Muscle are more metabolically efficient in comparison of fat mass.

Muscle metabolic rate is increased up to 70 hrs after strength training which means your muscles are still burning calories even days after your exercise. 

 2. Help you build lean muscle mass

Strength training is best to grow lean muscle mass and you will appear more leaner cause muscle are more condensed than fat. 

Strength training help to lose more fat and build stronger and larger muscles definition. 

 3. It makes your stronger

Strength training help to make you stronger than any other type of exercise. 

Gaining strength makes your daily life work more easier such are carrying water filled bucket, heavy groceries and etc.

It also improve endurance and stamina along with strength which help you sustain for longer without getting fatigue.

Fat is very harmful for your overall health, it can cause various type of health disease like, diabetes, cardiovascular disease. 

Strength training help to reduce abdominal fat specially visceral fat, which related with the most of the disease.

Strength training or weight training may reduce the risk of getting injury. 

Strength training helps to improve the range of motion, strength and mobility of muscles, tendons and ligaments, which increase the strength of joints, knee, shoulder, hips.

Most of the studies have shows that strength training help to reduce or decrease blood pressure, cholesterol and maintain blood circulation. 

Strength training help to maintain healthy weight and regulate blood sugar level.

7. Manage your blood sugar level

Strength training may help to reduce or prevent developing diabetes and can help to diabetic patient to manage it better. 

Muscles helps to increase insulin sensitivity, which help to reduce glucose level in the blood by sending in muscles cells. so the more muscles you have the lesser the chance of getting diabetes or help to manage it better.
