Scientific name of Tulsi or Holy basil is Ocimum tenuiflorum, is an aromatic plant in the family Lamiaceae. 

Tulsi is the native plant of Indian subcontinent and cultivated plant throughout the Southeast Asia tropics.

Tulsi is the sacred plant for Hindus, worshiped as the avatar of  Goddess Lakshmi

In India it is cultivated for religious and traditional medicine purpose, In Ayurveda commonly it is widely used as herbal tea.

Tulsi contains some of the phytochemical (act as antioxidant), include rosmarinic acid, ursolic acid, oleanolic acid, eugenol, carvacrol, linalool, and β-caryophyllene.

Tulsi has been found to protect tissue and organs against chemical stress.
